Metzler promoted to assistant to the health commissioner
Logan County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott was extended a one-year contract during the Wednesday afternoon board of health meeting, and his contract includes a pay cut he volunteered to take so that the agency can move forward with future leadership planning.
While his contract for serving in the part-time role previously included a salary of $55,000 per year, his new salary will be $47,500, effective April 1. Also a physician at Maple Leaf Family and Sports Medicine in Bellefontaine, Dr. Hoddinott has served as the county’s health commissioner since 2000, and said he plans to continue in that role for several more years before retirement.
“I’m trying to do what’s best for our county,” he said, relating to taking a pay cut. “Our agency is struggling financially right now, and I think this is a good move to invest in our future leadership.”
