Logan County Health Commissioner Dr. Boyd Hoddinott, center, receives special recognition Wednesday during his retirement party from Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s Office for his work with the business community during the pandemic. Susie O’Brien, Central Ohio liaison for Secretary of State LaRose, right, delivered the commendation to Dr. Hoddinott, with the assistance of Logan County Commissioner Paul Benedetti, who helped to arrange the surprise visit at the Logan County Health District, 310 S. Main St., to coincide with the retirement celebration. The commendation recognizes the retiring health commissioner’s “exemplary work” and serving in an instrumental role in assisting the “Back to Work Logan County Committee” to get employees back to their workplaces while also establishing safety protocols during the health crisis. Dr. Hoddinott has served in his position since 2000, and he retires from his role at the end of September.
