Two non-profit organizations are teaming up to return a once dilapidated residential site to a home for a Logan County family.

Habitat for Humanity of Logan County has purchased a reclaimed residential property at 700 Eastern Ave. for $3,606 from the Logan County Land Reutilization Corp., commonly known as the land bank.
Habitat will use the 8,000- square-foot property to build a 1,200-square-foot, singlefloor home for Maurice and Sonseeraye Wilson.
Construction should start later this summer or early fall and wrap up before winter, Habitat’s Director Kelly Jackson said.
“A lot depends when the money is available,” she said.
The local Habitat builds about one home a year and helps with rehabilitation of other projects.
LCLRC was formed last year as a community improvement corporation focused on returning nonproductive properties back on the tax roll.
