Volunteers recognized for role in hospital’s 100-year history
Volunteers have provided a strong backbone of support for Mary Rutan Hospital and have helped to fuel the growth for the hospital system during its 100-year history celebrated this year, logging nearly 300,000 hours since the start of the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild 68 years ago, officials related during a volunteer appreciation luncheon Friday.
The Guild currently includes 95 members who worked a total of 9,200 hours last year, Mary Rutan Foundation COO Tammy Allison reported during the opening the festivities at the Bellefontaine First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave.
“I love to talk with them and to hear their stories, including how much the hospital has changed over the years,” Allison said. “They’re a wealth of knowledge and an important part of our history.”
“I appreciate all of the familiar faces I see today,” said Laura Miller, vice president of marketing and communications.
“We’re so thankful for the customer service that you help us provide for our community and your commitment of your time.”
