Benjamin Logan High School AP Chemistry student Jordan Sexstone performs an acid-base titration to determine the concentration of acetic acid in commercial vinegar. Students in the class made a basic solution, standardized the concentration of the basic solution, and then used burets to neutralize the acid in vinegar. Students used both color changes and a pH meter to determine when to stop the titration. The pH meters were purchased with the help of a grant from the Logan County Electric Cooperative. The students are instructed by Michael Kettler, who teaches Chemistry, AP Chemistry and Physics at BLHS. (BENJAMIN LOGAN PHOTO)
