O’DONNELL |
A former local school superintendent sentenced for molesting a girl over a two-year period will serve the remainder of his 54-month sentence.
An attorney for Pat O’Donnell, 53, filed a written motion April 1 asking for early release. It was a motion rejected nine days later by Logan County Common Pleas Judge William T. Goslee without a hearing.
O’Donnell was superintendent of Indian Lake Local School District when he was accused in 2017 of sexual contact with a girl under the age of 13 over a twoyear period.
He pleaded guilty with Alford stipulations to one count of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony, on Feb. 12, 2018, and was sentenced to prison March 19.
He was classified as a Tier II sex offender and is required to register his address every six months for 25 years.
With his plea, the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office dropped 13 other charges including several rape charges.
It was done after consulting with the victim, who was not an Indian Lake student, and her family.
Prosecutors also dropped charges against O’Donnell’s wife, Heather, who was the superintendent of the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center.
Patrick O’Donnell has around 40 months left to serve.
