Gloria Jean Shultz, 71, of DeGraff, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, at Hospice of Central Ohio in Columbus. She was born on Dec. 21, 1948, a daughter of the late Ivan D. and Frances E. (Weaver) Kahl.
On July 28, 1967, Gloria married Anthony “Lynn” Shultz in DeGraff, and he survives, along with their four children, Hillary (Kyle) Knief, Ryan (Esther) Shultz, Sami (Clark) Schultz, and Dillan (Jacob Canipe) Shultz; nine grandchildren, Kasandera, Elijah, Caleb, and Ethan Knief, Lillian, Nathanael, and Elaina Shultz, and Lilian and Grace Schultz; a sister, Sharon (George) Pequignot; a sister-in-law, Sandy Musser; nieces, Suzy Headley and Mandy Tidwell; and a nephew, Mike Pequignot. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carey Musser, and a nephew, Scott Musser.
A homemaker, Gloria had worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Indian Lake Schools for 12 years. She played piano and taught Sunday School as a member of the DeGraff Baptist Church for 41 years. Gloria had a generous heart, caring and providing for others using her talents of cooking and sewing. She was a foster parent for 10 years and loved spending time at the Columbus Zoo. Her greatest love in life was being active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Reverend Bruce Keeling will officiate a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Huntsville United Methodist Church, 6611 Fruit St., where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff at a later date.
