Gerald “Jerry” Tussing, 76, passed away July 8, 2017, at his Bellefontaine home.
A graduate of The Ohio State University College of Agriculture, he retired from the United States Department of Agiculture, Soil Conservation Service, after serving as a soil conservantionist and resource conservation and development coordinator in many Ohio counties. After retirement, he served two years as executive director of the Indian Lake Watershed Project.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves, serving six years as a medic, and was an active member and volunteer at Hilliker YMCA and Bellefontaine’s Tree Steward Program.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Colby Tussing; daughter, Ellie (Edward) Link; son, Chad Tussing; grandchildren, Grace and John Link and Ethan, Elisa and Wil Tussing; sister, Sylvia (Greg) Hering; and 17 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory may be made to Universal Home Health and Hospice, 701 S. Main St., Bellefontaine OH 43311.
A celebration of life will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Hilliker YMCA for friends to share their memories with his family.
