George Millard Elliott, 86, of Naples, Florida, was called to heaven and has reunited with his wife Barb and two children Greg and Gloria on the morning of Sunday, August 29, 2021, with family at his side.
George was born and raised in Bellefontaine, and graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1953. After graduation he married the love of his life and they raised three children.
George worked for Knowlton Construction for several years before moving to Naples in 1982 and starting his own business Elliott’s Painting. In his younger years, he was active in the church youth group and also coached the basketball team. For someone who has had several tragedies in his life you never heard him complain and was always willing to help anyone in need. A well-loved man, George enjoyed watching nascar and was a Tampa Bay Rays fan. Spending time with his family brought him his greatest enjoyment. He will be missed by many who has had the pleasure to meet him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth Elliott, wife of 64 years, Barbara Elliott, two children, Greg and Gloria Elliott and sister Janet Fullerton.
He is survived by his son Gary (Michelle) Elliott, granddaughter’s Jessica VanHorn and Jenna Elliott, great-grandson’s Jaiden, Jaxon and Jayce and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
No services are planned at this time.** The family will be having a celebration of life for George, Barbara and Greg in Bellefontaine at a future date.
