George Anthony “Tony” Brown, 57, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:13 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima.
He was born on October 14, 1962 in Ironton, to the late Joseph and Bonnie Brown. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Stevens; a brother, Henry Stapleton; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Brown.
On May 16, 1997, Tony married the former Cynthia Jones in Bellefontaine, and she survives, along with seven children, Kayla Brown, Melissa (Nate) Petty, A.J. (Kaiti) Brown, Shannon Bare, Michelle (Eric) Malott, Billy (Nikki) Blair, and John F. (Steph) Aubrey Jr.; a special friend and former wife, Nannette Brown; 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jo (Richard) Shope and Joyce Stapleton; two brothers, Jimmy Stapleton and Ben Joe Brown; a sister-in-law, Rachel Stapleton; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony had worked at Carter Steel and most recently Airstream in Jackson Center. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed fishing, softball, and basketball. He had been a member of the former AMVETS Post #105 in Bellefontaine.
Per Tony’s request, there will be no public services.
