A former Marysville Post commander will be second in charge of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gov. Mike DeWine’s officer announced Thursday.
Major Marla Gaskill as a new assistant superintendent of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. She will fill the position vacated by Lt. Col. Richard S. Fambro and will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
Effective March 16, Fambro will assume the responsibilities of the superintendent of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and will be promoted to the rank of colonel.
He replaces the outgoing superintendent, Col. Paul Pride, who will retire March 15 after nearly 30 years of distinguished service.
Fambro started his patrol career in 1989 as a cadet dispatcher.
Gaskill also started her career in 1989 as a cadet. Both graduated in the 119th Academy Class in January 1990.
Gaskill took over leadership of the Marysville Post in 2001 before moving on in 2006.
