Gary S. Miller, 65, of Lakeview, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at his home. He was born in Troy on Sept. 17, 1952, a son of the late Harold P. Miller and Gloria A. Himes Miller, who survives in Lakeview.
On Sept. 2, 1972, he married Katheryn Colton and she preceded him in death Oct. 17, 2017.
He is survived by a daughter, Bethan (Jason) Miller of Rushsylvania; a son, Greg (Carey) Miller of Dublin; four grandchildren, Ammon, Sariah, Eli and Wyatt; two brothers, David A. (Janis Diane) Miller of Jamestown and Jim (Lisa) Miller of Beavercreek; and nieces and nephews, Katrina, Christina, Amy, Chelsea, Jared, Riley, Peyton and Reilly.
Gary worked as a dispatcher for Whiteline Express LTD in Jackson Center. He was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Russells Point, where he sang in the choir. He also sang with the Loganairres barber shop choir. He spent 25-plus years coaching basketball in the CYO of Greater Dayton. He loved attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren. His family always came first to him, and when he had spare time, he loved to fish.
Father Shawn Landenwitch celebrates a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Russells Point. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine.
