Gary L. Dolan, 67, Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:34 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born in Weston, West Virginia on February 8,1954, the son of the late William Francis “Bill” and Betty (Smith) Dolan. He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
On June 30, 1973 he married Delores “Dee Dee” (Martindell) Dolan, and she survives in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by sons, Gary L. (Anna) Dolan II of Bellefontaine, Jeff (Amy) Dolan of Kenton, Nick (Teanda) Dolan of Bellefontaine, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sisters, Sharon (Kenny) Rodgers of Massillon, Betty (Jim) Burkhammer of Bellefontaine, brothers, William “Kenny” (Carrie) Dolan, Tom (Joni) Dolan, Terry (Tonia) Dolan, all of Bellefontaine, many nieces and nephews.
Gary worked as a mechanic all his life, learning the trade from his father. He owned and operated his own garages, as well as working for Goodyear, Spring Hills Wrecking Yard and retiring from Monroe. After retiring, he went to work at AutoZone and delivered parts locally. He loved fishing, working on cars, building race cars, camping at Eagles Campground, and was a Cincinnati Reds fan and loved going to ballpark to watch games. He was also a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday, April 26, in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
