Gary E. Hogue, 65, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at Vancrest of Urbana. He was born in Kenton on July 16, 1952, to the late Richard E. Hogue and to Coleen M. Horner Hogue, who survives in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by his sister, Sue (Bob) Godwin of West Liberty; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Chuck Taylor of Urbana. A brother, R. Elwood “Boss” Hogue preceded Gary in death, July 7, 2015.
Gary was veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country from 1972 to 1974. He enjoyed woodworking and participating in craft shows with his mother, Coleen. Gary was a Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku. He also loved his motorcycle and his cats.
Pastor Rick Riggs officiates a memorial service at 11a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation is 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec.18. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
