Francis Joseph “Joe” Fittro, 81, of Mt. Victory, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
He was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Mt. Victory to the late Thamer and Eva Smith Fittro.
On Sept. 8, 1957, he married Rebecca M. Davis and she preceded him in death Jan. 8, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Marsha) Fittro of North Lewisburg and David (Teresa) Fittro of Birmingham, England; three grandchildren, Lindsay Fittro, Nathanael Fittro and Rachael Fittro; two great- grandchildren, Shelbie and Kaycie; and a brother-in-law, Henry Williams of Mt. Victory.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Williams and Eunice Messenger.
He was a minister for 50-plus years with the Churches of Christ in Ohio and Indiana. He last ministered at the Central Church of Christ in Kenton. He also had worked at Honda of America for 12 years.
Joe was a model train enthusiastic, loved covered bridges, was an avid harmonica player and fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the Central Church of Christ, 815 E. Columbus St., Kenton, following calling that begins at 11 a.m. Pastor Willis Moe officiates. Burial follows at Hale Cemetery in Mt. Victory, through arrangements with Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Mt. Victory.
