Forrest “Bud” L. Sidle, 84, of Norton, entered into the presence of His Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.
He was born Dec. 3, 1932, in Van Wert County to the late Oscar and Evalyn LaRue Sidle. Bud moved to the DeGraff area in 1937 and graduated from DeGraff High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to1956 and was honorably discharged.
Bud graduated from Tennessee Temple in 1960 and joined Baptist Mid-Missions as a missionary pastor. He and his wife served as missionaries in British Columbia, Indiana and in Ohio. He retired in 2000 and moved to Norton in 2004.
Bud also was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Anne Sidle. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Morris Sidle; sons, Kris (Lori) A. Sidle and John E. Sidle; daughters, Pamela (Andrew) LaBreche and Joy (James) Spurrier; two granddaughters; six grandsons; sisters, Phyllis (Harold) Taylor and Jacqueline (James) McBrien; one niece; three nephews; and several great- nieces and nephews.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Bacher Funeral Home, 3250 Greenwich Road, Norton. A funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at Norton Baptist Church, 4329 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, with visitation an hour prior. Pastor Dwight Strickland officiates. A private interment service will take place at Claibourne Cemetery.
