Flo Ann Sours Easton, 80, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018.
She was born June 23, 1938 ,in Bellefontaine, to Florine and Nelson Sours. She graduated from Bellefontaine High and received her RN degree from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from The Ohio State University, where she met John Easton, whom she married March 18, 1962.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John; and her children, Scott (Liz), Amy (Derek) and Carrie; grandchildren, Jack, Mary, Collin, Regan and Grayson.
Flo Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very involved over the years, serving on many committees and boards in her community through such organizations as Broad Street Methodist Inner City Programs, Women’s Association of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Upper Arlington Four Seasons Garden Club, Childhood League Board VI, The Columbus Foundation, UA Education Foundation, Trinity United Methodist Church and OSU Women in Philanthropy. She was a Columbus Museum of Art docent and a Women in Music Columbus soloist
She received the UA Rotary Northwest Women of the Year award. Her most recent pursuits with her husband John involved funding of teacher grants through the Bellefontaine School system and the Flo Ann Sours Easton Neonatal Pediatrics and OB GYN Simulation Laboratory at the OSU College of Nursing.
Calling is from 3 to 6 p.m.Thursday, Oct. 11, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus. A Celebration of Life service begins at noon Friday, Oct.12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Flo Ann Easton Music Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church.
