Larabee P. Moore IV, 23, of Marysville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following an incident Sunday evening at the Indian Lake Campground, 12774 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.
Deputies responded about 6:10 p.m. to a report of a vehicle that had struck a large rock in the parking lot area of the campground. The airbags inside the vehicle reportedly had deployed as a result of the crash, but the occupants had walked away from the scene.
A witness identified Moore as the driver of the vehicle, and said Moore had exited the vehicle while carrying a can of beer. Moore told deputies that his flip flop sandal got caught on the accelerator, and that he crashed into the rock as a result.
Moore did not report any injuries. His passenger, Darian Greenbaum, 23, of Columbus, was treated at the scene by Indian Lake EMS personnel.
Moore failed field sobriety tests, and was transported to the jail, where he refused to take an blood alcohol content test. He also was cited for having an open container in a motor vehicle and for failure to control.
• Adam J. Foust, 27, of Lima, was charged with OVI following a crash in the parking lot of Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview, about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies report Foust parked his car in the parking lot in the golf cart parking area of the premises, and he reportedly told deputies he was just going inside for a few minutes. He returned to his vehicle and two passengers also entered his car.
As Foust was attempting to exit the parking space, his car struck a vehicle owned by Kyle Minnig of Harrod that was parked beside him, causing light damage to both vehicles.
Foust refused to take field sobriety tests or a BAC test. He was placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
Bar patron lodged on multiple charges
Emily Benge, 21, of Troy, was charged with criminal trespass, persistent disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana following an incident Saturday evening at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
A deputy of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office working a security detail at the bar spoke with Benge and her friend at the pool area about 6:30 p.m. because they were not wearing wristbands that were required for entry.
Benge reportedly began arguing with the deputy, stating that she was of legal drinking age, and allegedly started yelling profanities. The deputy also observed an odor of burnt marijuana coming from her person, and a prescription bottle with suspected marijuana was located in her purse.
The defendant was escorted out of the pool area, and continued to cause issues. She was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail, where a small amount of marijuana also was found on her person.
