No major damage was reported after a fire at Burger King, 1135 N. Main St.
On Wednesday, March 13, shortly before 4 p.m., the Bellefontaine Fire Department responded to the commercial fire incident.
Crews arrived and saw smoke coming from the roof, and individuals running outside the premises.
Fire crews were told by employees that the fire suppression system had been activated.
The fire, located in the kitchen area, had been contained by the suppression system, minimizing damage. Firefighters gained access to the roof and confirmed the fire was extinguished, allowing for ventilation of the structure. Macohee EMS covered a squad run during the operation.
Fire crews reported that the fire suppression system effectively prevented the situation from escalating. No injuries were reported.
