Ridgemont Board of Education members approved at their Thursday evening meeting the FFA Chapter’s trip to the FFA National Convention Oct. 25-28, where the group will be recognized for being named in the Top 10 in the country in two divisions, and three members also will compete as National Proficiency finalists.
Ridgemont FFA will compete in both the National Model of Innovation in the Growing Leaders and the Building Communities by the National FFA Organization.
The Model of Excellence award rates the chapter on its activities for the students, chapter, and community; the Model of Innovation Award in the student and chapter divisions celebrates Ridgemont’s innovative project ideas for the students.
At the national convention in Indianapolis, Ridgemont will compete against nine other chapters from across the country to vie for the top ranking in each category.
