Beginning Feb. 3, Bellefontaine Examiner subscribers will get to read their newspaper with their morning coffee.
Papers are expected to arrive in Bellefontaine about 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturday, following a change in production schedule.
We will continue to produce a digital edition on Fridays, which will also be available in the morning.
In addition to receiving news and information earlier, we believe the change to a morning edition will provide other benefits for our readers.
First-shift employees will now have the opportunity to purchase the Examiner at single-copy locations before going to work, and during winter months when it gets dark earlier, subscribers will be able retrieve their paper in daylight.
Our business office hours — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday — will not be affected by the change.
Display and classified advertising deadlines also will not be impacted.
The Examiner continues to accept and encourage news tips, meeting notices and other items of public interest, and information may be submitted in-person during normal office hours, or anytime by e-mail. Electronic submissions should be received by 7 p.m. for consideration in the next day’s newspaper.
The Examiner’s sports department will have a deadline of 9:30 p.m. throughout the week to report game results. Results received after 9:30 p.m. will not be guaranteed to run in the next day’s paper. Games played on Saturdays will need to be reported by 5 p.m. Sunday.
