ALICIAN TITUS |
URBANA — Two events at Urbana University will mark the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks that among the 3,000-plus vitcims included Alicia Titus, a 1991 Graham High School graduate, who was a flight attendant on United Airlines Flight 175.
The annual Alicia Titus Memorial Run for Peace is set to take place the morning of Sept. 10. The 5-K run and 1-mile walk or run begins at 9 a.m. at the UU Student Center and winds through Monument Square and Freedom Grove before returning to the student center.
At 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, the Student Center will be the site of a Community Day of Remembrance that will feature keynote speaker Marianne Williamson, educator and author of Tears to Triumph: The Spiritual Journey from Suffering to Enlightenment. World House Choir will perform and Alicia’s parents John and Bev Titus will offer brief remarks.
Proceeds from the run go toward peace and justice programs at UU and support a scholarship at UU.
Race registration is $35 and entries can be mailed to Can’t Stop Running Co., 321 N. Main St., Piqua, Ohio 45356; (937) 778-1515; or register online at www.cantstoprunningco.com.
