Esther Louise Brugler, 98, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Campbell Place, Bellefontaine.
She was born in Ridgeway on March 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Winner LeVally.
On Aug. 9, 1947, she married Garrett McKinley Brugler Jr. and he preceded her in death, along with sisters, Mable Sloan, Fern Smith, Marjorie Amerine and Mary Patrick; and brothers, Glen LeVally and Robert LeVally.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecca A. Simmons; a son, Merlyn Dee (Terry) Brugler; five grandchildren, Lisa (Scott) Engle, Nathaniel (Amanda) Brugler, Aaron (Staci) Brugler, Jessica (Zac) Johnson and Kari Simmons; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandsons; and a sister, Alice Marker.
She worked as a clerk at the Rushsylvania Post Office and was a member of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ and the Samaritan Circle of Christian Service. Esther worked with the Rushcreek election polling location for more than 30 years. She was an avid word puzzle player.
Pastor Lloyd Ferguson officiates a funeral at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. today, April 7, and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial is in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
