The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center has received a $345,000 Straight A Grant from the state of Ohio to implement pilot sites for three school districts to implement Harvard’s Pathways to Prosperity.

In partnership with Rhodes State Community College, the concepts will provide Upper Scioto Valley, Indian Lake and Fairlawn high schools students with the goal of a diploma, a basic manufacturing credential that can lead to an internship and/or employment.
Along with the West Central Ohio Manufacturers Consortium of 27 industries dedicated to improving the manufacturing workforce, the West Central Ohio Career Network through Rhodes States will provide 40 hours of instruction and students will have the opportunity to engage in team-building and communication exercises to prepare for future careers.
“There are many career paths to success for students, including excellent local options,” said Heather O’Donnell, Midwest Regional ESC superintendent. “The more students, parents and educators learn about and experience these options, the greater the chance for success our students and communities as a whole will have.”
