Jeffery A. Ward, 16, of Kenton, was charged Monday afternoon with four delinquency counts of felonious assaults for allegedly biting a school nurse and assaulting three teachers at Mac-A-Cheek Learning Center, 1130 W. Sandusky Ave.
A teacher told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department that she took Jeffery into a seclusion room to discuss inappropriate sexual comments he was making aloud. He became enraged and began punching a desk and wall.
Other teachers heard the commotion and responded to the room. He threw a chair, lunged at the teacher, struck her and ripped a paper towel dispenser from a wall.
The nurse and a teacher were bitten by the student and another teacher was struck in the head while trying to restrain the teen.
Officers took him into custody and lodged him in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center.
Several men charged
Benjamin J.P. Rush, 34, of 1141⁄2 Court Ave., was charged Saturday with having an open container in public. He was spotted around 10:35 p.m. sitting on a stoop at 120 Court Ave. with an open can of beer. Officers report he exhibited signs of intoxication, but he agreed to return the beer to his residence.
• Kenneth J. Wilkinson Jr., 31, at large, was charged with possession of drugs after he was found unresponsive on a sidewalk in front of 404 N. Troy Road around 6:55 p.m. Monday. He
was awaked by officers who found two pre- scription anxiety pills in a pill bottle taken from the suspect.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• James S. Hill, 42, at large, was charged today with disorderly conduct, public intoxica- tion and having an open container of alcohol. He was spotted around 12:30 a.m. on east Patterson Avenue with an open can of beer.
He was intoxicated and appeared unable to take care of himself. He was lodged in jail.
