Engineers are prepared to move forward with the next phase of a drainage project through Zanesfield that began two years ago if the struggling town can cover its share of the project.
Logan County Assistant Engineer Cale Jacobs was in townThursday evening collecting signatures from landowners on easements that will allow contractors onto their properties to complete the work.
The plan calls for improving about 950 feet of the main drainage ditch that runs through town, from the corporation limit at Main and Bellefontaine streets to the spot where it connects with a structure that carries the water beneath Sandusky Street, Jacobs said. It will also improve areas of two alleys where dips in the asphalt can be potentially damaging to motor vehicles.
