Emma Katherine Lehman, 86, of Dayton, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
She was born in Bloomfield Township, Logan County, On Sept. 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Nelson B. and Edna Ambos Hoffman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Lehman; and two brothers, Neil A. Hoffman and Franklin R. Hoffman.
Survivors include a daughter, Ginger Lehman of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Jeffrey of Dayton; and sisters, Marjorie Hoffman of Dayton, Connie Regula of Bellefontaine, Marilyn Scherler of Brighton, Mich., and Carolyn Hoffman of Lakeview.
A 1947 graduate of Washington High School in Lewistown and ERTI of Omaha, Neb., she worked as a teletype and personal telegram operator at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and later retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, Dayton.
She volunteered at Dayton Tech Art, USO Club at Dayton International Airport, Senior Center, Dayton Art Institute, National Model Railroad and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dayton, where she was active in the bell choir and women’s council.
Per her wishes, her remains were donated to Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Anatomical Gift Program.
