Elmer J. Ropp, 67, of St. Paris, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in his residence.
Born July 21, 1950, in Piqua, he was a son of late Leonard and Laura Bodey Ropp.
He is survived by his three sons, Michael D. Ropp of St. Paris, Eric M. (Courtney) Ropp of Springfield and Warren L. (Brandy) Ropp of DeGraff; eight grandchildren, Justin Ropp, Shania Mitchell, Nicolas Ropp, Heather Ropp, Brooke Dunlap, Leonard Ropp, Alexandria Ropp and Samuel Ropp; three brothers, Nelson Ropp and William Ropp, both of Urbana, and Edward (Caroline) Ropp of Dayton; and two sisters; Esta Huffman of Urbana and Clara (Gene) Cupps of Lakeview.
He also was preceded in death by three sisters, Marion K. Ropp, Sue Holbrook and Leona Minnich.
Elmer was a 1968 graduate of West Liberty-Salem High School. He served his country during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion National Post and a founding and upstanding member of the Paleriders MC.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 9, in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St., St. Paris, where calling is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 8. Chucky Taylor presides and burial follows in Rosedale Cemetery with military honors.
