Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Park Houck, 87, a lifelong resident of Logan County, passed away, Friday Aug. 26, 2016, at the Campbell Place.
She was born Feb. 26, 1929, in East Liberty, to the late Frank and Margaret Miller Reames. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Park; second husband, Albert Houck; infant son, Frank Aurthur Park; daughter, Carolyn (Bill) Gilcrest; daughter in-law, Joyce Park; and step-grandson, Chris McKnight.
Betty leaves behind her loving family: sons, Larry (Joyce) Park and Ron Park; daughter, Kay (Darryl Monteith) Latimer; grandchildren, David (Kathi) Stone, Jeff (Bobbi) Stone, Tracy (Scott) Johns, Tonya (Dale) Mabry, Nichole (Roger) Davis, Kaci (Robert) Herndon and Kristi (Tyson) Hoxworth; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Evan Stone, Keith, Abbey and Megan Stone; Skyler and Parker Johns, Dylan (Kaitlin) and Dawson Davis, William Herndon and Dax Hoxworth; step-daughter Mary Ann Houck; and the children of Joyce Park, Dave, Joe Ellen, Doug McKnight and Suellen Ball and their families.
In the mid 50s Betty was employed by Westinghouse. She later started her career as a nurse’s aide by providing compassionate and loving care to the residents of Latham’s Rest Home. From 1972 until she retired in 1992 she continued in the health care field at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Pastor Brent Driver will officiate a funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home and Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68 South, West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation is 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
