Carl F. Jenkins, 86, of Charleroi, Pa., was transported by Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital following a crash on State Route 540 Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Cruze in the area of Township Road 135 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road, striking a guide wire and a telephone pole.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt and was cited for failure to control.
• Bry W. Shulaw, 17, of Quincy, was cited for failure to control related to a crash Tuesday on County Road 63.
Deputies report he was operating a southbound 2000 Honda Accord about 6:50 a.m. near Township Road 256 when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road, and then traveled back onto the roadway. He failed to control and went back off the right side of the road into a ditch.
Damage was moderate to the car, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt.
