Jason L. Martin, 49, of 3583 S. U.S. Route 68, Apt. 1, was charged Monday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
He was stopped around 5:45 a.m. in at Marathon, 1504 S. Main St., after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were alerted by witnesses of a man riding an unlicensed motorized bicycle with no lights. The witnesses all reported Martin was swerving all over the roadway.
Officers report Martin exited the convenience store with a bag contain cans of beer. They detected a strong odor of alcohol while talking with Martin.
Field sobriety tests indicated he was impaired and his breathalyzer sample was recorded at 0.104.
He was issued traffic citations for no operator’s license, failure to reinstate his privileges and failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road.
While trying to collect phone numbers for a sober person to pick him up, Martin reportedly passed out several times, officers report. At one point, he nearly fell off the bench he was sitting on.
Two face domestic charges
Amanda K. Waller, 27, and Matthew W. Kelly, 29, each was charged with domestic violence after an early Wednesday morning incident at their 327 Shady Lane Drive apartment. Waller also was charged with menacing.
Officers were called to the residence around 3:40 a.m. and met with Kelly and his mother, Shannon L. Kelly, of Kenton. Kelly told officers he arrived home after work to find Waller intoxicated and angry. She began yelling at him and continued working herself into a rage. She allegedly threw items about the residence, knocked over furniture, tossed food from the refrigerator and burned Kelly on the shoulder with a cigarette.
He called his mother who advised him to get out of the apartment and wait for her in his car. When she arrived, she went into the residence to check on Waller and her two-year-old granddaughter.
Waller allegedly threatened to beat Shannon Kelly.
Waller told officers Matthew Kelly shoved her and damaged her phone.
Officers believed Waller was the primary aggressor and lodged her in the Logan County Jail.
Woman charged with 911 misuse
Diane A. Gerber, 74, of 509 W. Columbus Ave., Apt. 4, was issued a summons Tuesday for misuse of the 911 emergency system. Officers were sent to the residence around 2:10 a.m. after a 911 call was made to police dispatchers.
They found Gerber and her son, Daniel May, extremely intoxicated and Gerber would not respond to questions other than to make an obscene hand gesture toward them.
Incident reports note officers have responded to several false 911 calls made by the duo in recent weeks. Both have been warned several times to stop.
Driver cited in hit-skip crash
Wihemina Michelle Humphrey, 49, of Lakeview, was issued traffic citations for leaving the scene of a crash and improper backing.
Witnesses report she backed a large sport utility vehicle from a parking spot at Waffle House, 1133 N. Main St., and into the front end of another SUV around 3:15 p.m. Monday.
Dylan A. Cable of Bellefontaine said he was inside drinking coffee when it happened and watched as Humphrey drove off.
Officers contacted Humphrey and she responded to the department later that evening.
