A driver that reportedly nearly caused a serious crash near Indian Lake was issued a drug-related summons following a traffic stop that occurred Sunday shortly after noon.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle driven Hunter Burris, 29, of Russells Point, after he almost struck another vehicle head-on the area of U.S. Route 33 near State Route 708 in Russells Point.
Upon making contact with the suspect, Hunter reportedly displayed signs of drug use. K9 Bruno was deployed and alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search turned up two needles and empty packaging containing a white residue
Burris was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
