Sandra A. Stein, 42, of 531 E. Brown Ave., was charged Tuesday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for driving over curbs and driving under suspension.
Just before 4 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department observed her drive a sport utility vehicle over a curb and into the drive for Newell Street Apartments.
Stein parked the vehicle after several starts and stops in a parking stall nearly striking another parked vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was in a passenger seat and she got out of the SUV to walk into her apartment.
Officers detected an odor of alcohol upon talking with Stein and field sobriety tests indicated she was impaired by alcohol. Her breathalyzer sample was 0.209.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Tyler E. Snape, 23, of 450 Kristina Drive, Apt. 13A, was charged with OVI after 2:40 a.m. traffic stop Sunday for no headlights.
He was observed traveling northbound on Main Street near Gunntown Road at an estimated 55 mph in a 35-mph zone. The officer was not in a position to use his radar.
However, he observed just one working headlight and stopped the motorist a block from his home. Upon contact, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol.
Snape declined field sobriety tests but submitted a breathalyzer sample of 0.235.
He was released to a sober friend.
