Kelsey N. Fox, 23, of 1032 Heritage Court, was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and driving upon curbs and no safety belt.
Around 2:35 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at the complex after Tabitha Keeton reported Dalton Ward was loudly knocking on the door of her 1076 Heritage Court residence and would not leave until he learned officers were on the way.
He fled to Fox’s residence and they, in turn, fled to her vehicle as police arrived. Fox got into the driver’s seat, started the vehicle and put it in drive. The vehicle lurched onto the curb and sidewalk in front of her apartment.
After several attempts, she put the vehicle in reverse and backed out to drive off as two officers flashed their flashlights at her. They had to stand in front of the vehicle to stop her from driving off.
She had alcohol on her breath and was unsteady on her feet. Field sobriety tests indicated she was intoxicated and her breathalyzer results were 0.135.
Ward was warned about disturbing the peace and criminal trespass and taken by a friend to his Walker Street residence.
• John M. Keller, 57, of 304 Walnut St., was charged Thursday with OVI after a single-vehicle crash around 6:40 p.m. on Pratt Street near Sandusky Avenue. He was cited for failure to control and leaving the scene of a crash.
He was westbound and turned north onto Pratt. His vehicle hit a stop sign and pole before he drove from the scene.
A witness reported the crash and Keller was found at his residence. He admitted to drinking too much and hitting the stop sign and pole.
He was extremely unsteady on his feet, officers report, and unable to complete field sobriety tests. His breathalyzer sample was 0.231.
Damage was moderate to his vehicle.
