Ernest E. Carter, 65, of Bellefontaine, was transported from the scene of a Friday crash by a Bellefontaine squad for treatment at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Officers report he was northbound in an alley in the 100 block of west Chillicothe Avenue around 2:10 p.m. and the car he was operating hit a stop sign at the southeast corner of the intersection.
The car continued northbound and hit a building on the northeast corner of the intersection.
Damage was heavy to the car.
Officers stop mental health patient
A 21-year-old Bellefontaine man was arrested Wednesday after he ran from a officer working security at Mary Rutan Hospital.
The man, who was receiving a mental health evaluation at MRH, was told three times that he needed to remain in a room until he could be transferred to a Columbus facility for treatment.
Around 9:05 a.m., he exited his room and headed for an exit. The officer was able to grab ahold of the patient’s left arm at the exit, but the man shed his jacket and ran out an emergency exit.
The officer pursued the man and caught up with him in the 1000 block of Park Road when an off-duty officer of the West Liberty Police Department pulled his private vehicle drove up. The off-duty officer was at MRH and observed the patient’s flight from the facility.
The patient was taken into custody on a failure to appear warrant and lodged in the Logan County Jail pending his 1 p.m. transfer to the Columbus facility.
Boy lodged in JDC
A 13-year-old Bellefontaine boy was lodged Saturday in the Logan County Juvenile Detention Center after he reportedly attacked a 14-year-old boy in the 400 block of north Madriver Street around 7 p.m.
The victim had a cut on his cheek from the attack. Several witnesses and the victim gave similar accounts of the incident.
The suspect was located in a nearby house and taken into custody on a delinquency charge of assault.
Woman faces charge
Kylie A. Rogers, 36, of 104 Pine Crest Court, was charged Friday with persistent disorderly conduct after a 10:55 p.m. disturbance at her residence.
Officers report she was intoxicated and belligerent as they were trying to talk with Rogers’ housemate, Heather Kelly, regarding an unwanted guest.
The guest was given a ride home by Rogers’ brother and she was issued a summons.
