Man charged with obstructing official business
Richard L. Austin Jr., 53, of 7207 Franklin Drive, Russells Point, was charged Tuesday evening with obstructing official business and persistent disorderly conduct relating to an incident at his residence.
Deputies responded to his address about 6:30 p.m. on a well-being check for Austin’s daughter. The defendant said he did not want to let deputies in the home and advised them that they could see his daughter through the window.
Deputies said it took about 40 minutes to gain entry to the home so that they could speak with the girl. She did not report any injuries, but told deputies she had been frightened by her father’s actions that evening.
The defendant was lodged in the Logan County Jail. Russells Point Police Department officers also assisted at the scene.
