Zachary B. Lump, 29, of Lakeview, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Thursday evening, Feb. 29.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating an eastbound 2009 Ford Focus About 7:50 p.m. on U.S. Route 33 near County Road 57 when he struck the rear of an eastbound 2024 Dodge Ram operated by Kenneth H. Cox, 44, of Swainsboro, Ga.,
The Cox vehicle was pushed into the rear of an eastbound 2024 Toyota Camry operated by Neil C. Brewer, 64, of Lewis Center.
The Ford Focus came to a rest after striking a concrete culvert, located in a ditch.
No other injuries were reported and no citations have yet been issued. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
The first two vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. The Toyota Camry sustained moderate damage.
Man lodged for domestic violence
Dwight E. Lewis, 44, of 230 S. Oak St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence related to an incident Friday, March 1, at his residence.
Deputies responded to his address about 2:30 p.m. on a 911 related to a possible domestic dispute.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the female victim on the front porch. She stated that Lewis had been driving alcohol that day and had gotten physical with her during an argument, reportedly pushing her and then taking her phone and throwing it.
Lewis admitted to deputies that he had thrown a phone during their argument, but denied hurting the victim. He was placed under arrest and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
