Man jailed after domestic dispute
Mark Harshfield, 46, of 11242 Five Oaks Court, Belle Center, was charged with domestic violence following an incident Wednesday evening at his residence.
Deputies responded to his address about 8:40 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute. His wife, Amy, 44, said an argument with her husband became physical that night while she was on the phone with her father-in-law asking for help dealing with her husband.
She said Mr. Harshfield and their 10-year-old son started yelling back and forth, and the defendant allegedly pulled his son’s hair and slapped him. The 10-year-old reportedly grabbed a broom and struck his father.
Mr. Harshfield then allegedly threw a shelf across the floor. Deputies located him in another area of the home, and noted that he displayed signs of intoxication.
He initially reported his wife had kicked him while he was in the garage, but changed his story to state that his son had kicked him. He also said he did not strike his son, but grabbed him to correct him.
The defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
