Ashlynn Manns, 20, of 3436 County Road 13, Bellefontaine, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana paraphernalia and open container in a motor vehicle during a traffic stop New Year’s Day.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office observed a speed violation with her vehicle about 4:55 p.m. and initiated the stop in the area of State Route 47 and County Road 31.
While speaking with Mann, deputies said she was shaking and crying and they observed two open alcohol containers in the passenger side door panel. A probable cause search was conducted of the vehicle and deputies seized smoking devices containing suspected marijuana, along with marijuana shake and a digital scale.
She was issued the summonses and a citation for speed.
Citation issued following hit-skip crash
Hollie Groves, 40, of Russells Point, was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension following a crash Monday morning in the 4500 block of Township Road 187.
Deputies report she was operating a northbound 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier about 5:40 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road, striking a fence. She then reportedly left the scene.
Deputies responded to the crash site about 1 p.m. after the owner of the fence reported the damage.
Another deputy located an abandoned vehicle in the area of 4720 Township Road 79 near Lewistown matching the description of the vehicle involved in the crash. The car had damage to its headlights, hood and top.
Groves called the sheriff’s office about 5 a.m. Tuesday to report the crash, stating she drove away from the site where she had crashed because she was unsure what to do and her cell phone had died.
Theft of tools reported
Deputies responded to 785 S. County Road 5, Zanesfield, about 12:40 a.m. Saturday on a breaking and entering report. The homeowner reported her alarm system went off and she went outside and observed that the shed door was open and that power tools were missing from inside the shed.
