Daniel M. Buscher, 37, of 6457 Findlay St., Huntsville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol about 1:10 a.m. in the area of state routes 366 and 117 observed a speed violation with his vehicle and initiated the stop in the 7800 block of S.R. 117.
While speaking with the driver, Buscher, deputies observed that his speech was slurred and his eyes were glassy. When questioned, he told deputies he had consumed several beers prior to driving.
He submitted to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he submitted to a breath test, with a result of 0.208 blood alcohol content.
The defendant also was cited for speed and driving under a 12-point license suspension. Buscher was released to a sober person.
