Dorothy Lorene Wren, 83, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.
She was born Aug. 28, 1932 in Sidney, to the late Harry Edwin and Effie Marguerite Allebaugh Gold. She lived most of her younger years in the St. Paris area where she attended St. Paris schools.
Upon marrying Walter A. Roby in 1948, she moved to the DeGraff area where they had a dairy farm. Lorene enjoyed farm life and later took a position at the formerly named Bulldog Electric facility in Bellefontaine where she worked for more than 18 years.
Lorene loved to garden, do craft projects and sew. She sewed hundreds of quilts, blankets, dolls and more. She collected dolls and loved to repair them She was an advid reader until her eyesight began to fail.
Lorene is lovingly remembered by her sister, Donna M. Spriggs of Quincy; her daughter, Patricia (Greg) Weatherwax of Cadillac, Mich.; two sons, Steven (Sandy) Roby of Cadillac, Mich., and Leonard D. Wren of Bellefontaine; 14 grandchildren, Roni, Chrissy, Julie, Nick, Jamie, John, Joe, Janice, Joshua, Misty, Cade, Shay, Mariah and Jason; more than 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of more than 46 years, Leonard Fredrick she also was preceded in death by a son, Walter Alan Roby; two brothers, Donald R. and Russell D. Gold; and one nephew; Lee Allen Spriggs.
A memorial Celebration of Life Tribute and gravesite service begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 in the Rosedale Cemetery near Rosewood in Champaign County at 5520 State Route 235, Conover.
