Doors such as these along the 100 block of south Main Street adorn the downtown landscape as part of the fifth annual Doors of EnCOURAGEment fundraiser organized by Melody Couchman which benefits the Logan County Cancer Society, a charitable organization administered by the Mary Rutan Foundation. The doors will be displayed until a public auction of the pieces, slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Logan County Fairground. The Logan County Cancer Society provides cancer patients with up to $750 per month for fuel expenses for treatment and medical appointments, up to $300 per month for cancer-related medications and $200 per month for medical supply reimbursement. Individuals also are eligible for a wig valued up to $300 annually, and a fund for emergency expenses is available. (EXAMINER PHOTO | JOEL E. MAST)
