Donald Wesley “Donnie” Carter, 73, of Quincy, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his residence.
He was born June 21, 1943, in Gallia County, to the late Raymond and Nettie Caldwell Carter. On June 17, 1967, he married Agnes Pequignot in Sparta, N.C., and she survives.
Donnie is also survived by children, Kevin and Ann Carter of Liberty Township, Pat and Wendy Carter of Botkins and Stacy and Danielle Carter of Wapakoneta; siblings, Allena Jordan, Linda Bryant and Patty (Buddy) Queen, all of Canal Winchester, and Carolyn (John) Bean of Laurelville; and grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Andrew, Daniel, Bryce, Kierstin and Kayla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Gene Carter and Elsie Chevalier.
Donnie retired from Goodyear after 33 years. He was an avid Ohio State fan. Donnie enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, including soccer, track, softball and baseball, and just spending time with them in general. Donnie was a member of Rum Creek United Methodist Church.
Memorial services are at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at Adams Funeral Home in Sidney, where calling begins at 4 p.m. The Rev. Rob Ulmer officiates.
