Donald E. Chamberlain, 80, of DeGraff, passed away at 11:28 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.
Born on May 28, 1937, Don was a son of the late Clifford and Laura LeVan Chamberlain. He married Joyce E. Hall on March 31, 1962, and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Pam (Mike) Scherer of DeGraff, Phillip (Lisa) Chamberlain of Lexington, Okla., and Darlene (Wade) Doan of Montpelier. He was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Cassie Scherer, Tiffany (Scott) Kern, Justis Owens, Colt Scherer, Taylor Doan and Wyatt Doan; and six great grandchildren, Cade, Crew, Emerson, Jace, Abram and Zanna. Don is also survived by siblings, James (Carolyn) Chamberlain of DeGraff, Rita Rowe of Rushylvania, Kay (Dean) Focker of Beverly, and Kathy and husband Doug.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Milo and Dick, and sisters Ruth Boggs, Eunice Boggs, Betty Kuntz and Janet Chamberlain.
Don was formerly employed by Hobart Brothers, Troy.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing euchre and his animals.
A celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, in his residence.
