Ridgemont Board of Education members approved a resolution at their Thursday evening meeting to place a district-owned mobile home property for sale by a public auction in Mt. Victory, at a date and time to be determined.
The property is located at 17185 County Road 209, Mt. Victory.
The property, which exceeds $10,000 in value, was previously donated to the district through a will from the estate of Charles Winebrenner and is not needed for any school purpose.
Also at the meeting, members were informed the 14th Annual Senior Citizen Luncheon is slated for noon Dec. 6 at the Mt. Victory building for guests ages 60 and older who currently live in the Ridgemont District.
More than 120 students out of 165 in the high school are involved with the luncheon, with 17 students selected supervisors who work on the event the whole day from organizing it, setting it up and supervising other pupils.
“We are not sure who enjoys this luncheon more, the students, the administration, or the senior citizens who attend,” school officials said in a release. “This is a time when we can bridge the generation gap by showing each other a little attention, enjoying a meal, listen to our students speak, and be entertained by our Jazz Band and Company R Swing Choir.”
