Local 4-H members and volunteers serve the Logan County 4-H Advisory Council’s dinner fundraiser at the Logan County Fairgrounds, where a total of 1,034 meals went out the door to benefit the scholarship fund. Representatives said 511 dinners were sold during the first-shift lunch time and 307 deliveries were made to local businesses and families throughout the county. Approximately 523 dinners were sold during the second-shift time later that evening. The money raised through dinner ticket sales goes to 4-H scholarship winners attending higher education in the fall. Nine graduating senior recipients from three different schools in the county benefitted from the 4-H Advisory Council’s scholarship this year, for a total of $3,300 toward their education. The council “would like to thank everyone who purchased meals this year as they secured almost a $4,000 profit margin to go towards scholarships next year,” members said, also expressing appreciation to 4-H members and volunteers who helped serve, package, and deliver meals, as well as Harlan’s BBQ & Catering for providing food and service during the fundraiser.
