Recordings of Zachariah Huddleston’s first interview with Logan County Sheriff’s Office detectives in November and jailhouse visits with his dad and grandmother revealed the defendant knew early on he was in deep trouble.

He never denied being in Jeffrey Brentlinger’s 6498 Township Road 129, Zanesfield home on Thanksgiving Day and recounted the incidents leading up to the fatal shooting.
A jury of eight women and four men watched the videos and listened to the visitation recordings during the second day of the 23-year-old defendant’s trial for murder.
They began to deliberate at 10:15 a.m. today on whether or not the defendant is guilty of murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, having a weapon under disability and tampering with evidence.
He first told detectives Brentlinger rushed him and co-defendant Marquevous Watkins as they held him at gun point demanding money.
Shots were fired, but he said he was too drunk to remember who fired the shots.
Later, he asked his dad, “What dude would rush two dudes with guns? I thought it was the law that if you’re being robbed, they have to let you rob them.
“He got up and ran to us and charged us. This is a big dude. I can’t tell you who shot him.”
