DELAWARE, Ohio — DeGraff-based farmer Jana Caudill joined Ohio Corn & Wheat (OCW) for its Emerging Leader Summit, a two-day program designed to help growers develop skills in leadership, communication and advocacy. This cohort included 10 participants from across the state of Ohio.
“The Emerging Leaders Summit is our opportunity to equip industry leaders and build on the skills they have already begun developing through their own practices and work,” said Tadd Nicholson, executive director of Ohio Corn & Wheat. “Jana was an excellent addition to the program. Her passion for her work is a pleasure to experience and support.”
Caudill and her husband David are continuing the legacy of her family farm, growing corn, soybeans and wheat in Champaign, Logan and Union counties.
They also have a small cow-calf operation. Caudill is an active member of Champaign County Farm Bureau, the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association and Ohio FFA Alumni.
At the summit, Caudill learned more about membership organizations, commodity checkoff programs and policy issue priorities. She also toured the Ohio Statehouse, met with State Senator Tim Schaffer and learned more about affecting change in public policy.
