Benjamin Logan track and field standout Coreen Crosby narrowly missed qualifying to the National Junior Olympic track and field meet during a regional qualifying event Thursday and Friday at Oberlin College.
Crosby finished third in the heptathlon for the second year in a row. The top two finishers qualified for the national meet. Crosby scored a personal-best 3,867 points over seven events. Crosby won the shot put (29-3 3/4) and the javelin throw (108-10). She also competed in the 100 hurdles (17.4), the high jump (5-1), the 200 (28.4), the 800 (2:40.1) and the long jump (15-4).
