Casey M. Castle, 26, of Tipp City, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to an incident Friday morning.
Deputies responded about 6:50 a.m. to a report of a non-injury crash and a disabled vehicle in the area of State Route 235 and Township Road 240.
While speaking with the driver, Castle, deputies noticed signs of intoxication and he admitted to consuming “a few beers.” Heavy damage also was observed to his vehicle, a Chevrolet Cruze.
He submitted to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. At the jail, he submitted to a blood alcohol content test, with a result of 0.131.
Castle could not tell deputies where the collision had taken place or what he had collided with. Upon further investigation in the area, deputies found what appeared to be the related crash scene about a half mile away, where a vehicle went off the road on S.R. 235 and County Road 52. Pieces of a side mirror and a Chevrolet logo from a vehicle were collected as evidence.
He also was cited for failure to control and leaving the scene of a crash, and was released to a sober driver.
